To the editor:

Thank you Chassell Township Board for deciding more than 600 of your township voters did not have a clue about what we were voting on. At the Aug. 10 public meeting you approved a motion to once more place the issue of continued membership in the Portage Lake Public LIbrary system on the ballot.

Why? What did you not understand about the Aug. 2 results?

I call upon the Chassell Township residents to contact and remind our board not to confuse their priorities with those of their constituency. The Chassell citizens’ vote was very clear – we wish to continue our enjoyment of the Portage Lake Public Library System and all the benefits that includes.

Again, the board serves at the pleasure of their voters. We vote you “in” and we can vote you “out.”
