Range area has community spirit

To the editor:

It seems there’s always been a sense of spirit and pride in the Range Area community. Recently, I’ve come to experience it personally.

Our vehicle broke down on the highway outside of South Range. We were able to coast into a relatively safe spot on the shoulder of the road.

Within minutes a very pleasant young man from Painesdale stopped to offer assistance. Some few minutes later the young man’s mother also stopped.

Those two samaritans got us back on the road, then followed us to ensure that we made it to where the vehicle could be left for subsequent repairs. The young man drove us home.

No recognition, no renumeration, just happy to oblige. Yup, community spirit is alive in the Range.
