Thanks Daily Mining Gazette

To the editor:

I salute the DMG for putting a more discerning approach to editorial submissions. No doubt it became obvious to many readers of the editorials that the opinions expressed there were getting out of hand, and at times striking a personal note to many. This is not an appropriate place to enter a slug fest with others.

The old adage is, “The right to swing your fist, ends just before the tip of my nose”. Even though we enjoy the freedom of speech and expression in this country, privately owned news sources have the right to edit their content if they find it too controversial or offensive.

If people with extreme views hold them so strongly, perhaps they should open and print their own news publication, some have. Most newspapers such as the DMG would I think welcome more positive, noteworthy, educational and appropriate information to print out publicly and I give kudos to those that do.
