Our president

To the editor:

A few comments on a reader’s misinformed letter from late June.

“He is smarter, and well-connected to other very talented people in finance and law.”

As Trump said: “I’m ‘Like, Really Smart,’ a ‘Very Stable Genius’.” A stable is where you keep all the horses and cows.

“Just imagine what would be happening, if Hillary Clinton had won.”

If Hillary had won, we wouldn’t have 125,000 Americans die from COVID-19. Some would die, but Trump, because of his incompetence, has the blood of perhaps 75,000 deaths on his inept hands. With Hillary we would have better relations with our friends overseas and she wouldn’t kowtow to dictators. Border children would be treated humanely, and not put in cages. She wouldn’t have divided the country and she would improve health care for all.

“Donald Trump is God’s gift to America, just in the nick of time.”

A god had nothing to do with it. Of course, if you believe Romans 13:1: “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.”

Then, apparently, God installed Trump in the Whitehouse, and installed all the presidents of the United States, Hitler in Nazi Germany, Stalin in the USSR, Churchill in Britain, Un in North Korea, Putin in Russia, etc..

“He is not in a popularity contest nor is he trying to increase his wealth like Democrats.”

Trump’s narcissism and ego seeks popularity whenever and wherever he can find it. He has openly violated the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution, this is grounds for removal from office.

“His goal is to provide more jobs, return this country to its roots, and drain the swamp in Washington.”

What are the roots being referred to? He’s not draining any swamp, he’s adding to the swamp by appointing foxes to guard the hen houses.

In the eight years of the Obama presidency, there were zero indictments in his administration. In Trump’s first three years there were 37 indictments.

“Many (Democrats) should be in jail or fired.”

Who should be jailed or fired and for what offense?

“If you are tired of the lies, and endless investigations the Democratic Party is conducting, it’s time to walk away.”

According to The Washington Post, Trump has made close to 18,000 false or misleading claims. He just can’t help himself in his childlike ranting.
