What is the message here?

To the editor:

I have noticed that many individuals do not wear masks while in local stores, assuming they put them on to enter, or don’t even put them on when entering. I also notice that the store’s employees are not designated as “Mask Mounties” to enforce the statewide requirement and refuse these individuals entry.

I wonder if these same individuals accompanied with school age children without masks require their children to wear seat belts when they are in their vehicles? If they require their children to wear seat belts but don’t have them wear masks in enclosed public places, are they saying it’s OK for us to infect these “others,” while they are wearing masks and won’t infect us? I want you to be safe but we don’t care about these “others.”

Is this the message? I think it may be.
