COVID protocols

To the editor:

The “COVID-19 protocols” and “COVID-19 rules” in sports, including professional sports, are manifestly preposterous nonsense. Once again, the principle is restrictions placed on people who are not sick, and players are “protected” against other players and other people who are not ill, and in many cases are not even reasonably believed to be ill.

Either players are too sick or injured to play, or they play (of course, in ice hockey, players going out because of an injury is hardly a given). Piling perhapses and speculation upon maybes only achieves the goal of cancelling games.
