I just wanted to take time to give a big Thank You! to the Portage Health Auxiliary for a grant I was awarded. I work in the Adams Township School District as a social work intern. When my master’s degree is completed, I will be a full-time mental health provider for students in our district. The grant the Auxiliary provided went a long way in helping me fill my office with resources and fun items for students. I was able to purchase activities to use with students, as well as rewards and games to play together. My office is a warm, inviting place where students feel safe and comfortable to discuss their problems. This grant was able to help that even more. It is so wonderful that there are organizations like the Portage Health Auxiliary to provide funds to enhance the health and well-being of youth in our area. I learned this is mainly from the gift shop at UPHS-Portage. I will be visiting there soon to help support this great organization.
