Huskies senior White named to BCAM Academic Athletic team

HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech senior Owen White was named to the 2021-22 Men’s College Academic-Athletic Team by Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan this week.

White averaged 17.6 points and six rebounds per game for the Huskies and was GLIAC Player of the Year for the second straight season.

He also was NABC All-Region First Team for the second time and led the Huskies to a regular season conference championship. He has been a member of SAAC, team captain, and leader of athletic bible study on campus with a 3.82 grade point average in Mechanical Engineering.

Also named to the team were Justin Fischer (Lake Superior State), Dorian Aluyi (Ferris State), Cole Kleiver (Alma College), and Evan Thomas (Hope College). 

BCAM member coaches submit nominations for awards during the nomination period. BCAM was established in the summer of 1876 and exists for the betterment of basketball in the state of Michigan, representing basketball coaches from junior high up to the collegiate level.
