HANCOCK — Chase Sides (Millport, Ala.) has committed to play for the Finlandia University baseball team.

Sides joins Jake Amshey (Marne, Mich.), Jonah Hunter (Fort Worth, Texas), Nick Savoie (Iowa, La.) and Jacob Wade (Southaven, Ms.) in the second wave of the 2021 recruiting class. There are 12 total players so far in the class.

“I am excited to add Chase to our incoming class,” Finlandia head coach Evan Brandt said. “He is an outfielder that will have an immediate impact for us. Chase is an outstanding athlete with great speed. He shows the ability to make every play look easy and use his speed to take away base hits. At the plate, Chase is a strong kid and does a great job of using that strength. He has a line drive approach and will have the ability to push doubles on balls hit in the gaps. I am excited to see Chase develop here and put pressure on some defenses.”
