Dawson commits to Finlandia baseball

HANCOCK — James Dawson (Mount Horeb, Wis.) has committed to play for the Finlandia University baseball team.

“I’m excited to add James to our incoming class. He is an infielder from Wisconsin,” Finlandia head coach Evan Brandt said. “James has a very high upside, both as a defensive and offensive player. Defensively, he is a gritty, fundamental and strong player, he will be a great defender as he develops. Offensively, James has a line drive approach and shows great ability to get on base. He will develop very quickly offensively here with his current skill set. We will look for James to provide some versatility in the lineup and defensive positioning. He can play multiple infield positions and will excel in whatever role we put him in.”

Dawson joins Andrew Andrade (Riverside, Calif.), Hector Camacho (Winter Haven, Fla.), Eastyn Culp (Vancouver, Wash.), Dominic Duprie (Ecorse, Mich.), Hunter Futrell (Leander, Texas) and Brandon Larue (Crivitz, Wis.) in the third wave of the 2021 recruiting class. There are 21 total players so far in the class.
