HANCOCK — Isabella Simpson has committed to play for the Finlandia University softball team.

Simpson, of Bardstown, Ky., joins Elizabeth Mukka (Fairland, Ind.) in the 2020 recruiting class.

Simpson is entering her senior year at Bardstown High School. She has helped the Lady Tigers qualify for the District 19 tournament the last three years. Simpson was a member of the 2020 College Scouting Bureau National Team. She had four doubles with two game-winning hits and batted .429.

“She will give us a quality left-handed bat and has the ability to play multiple positions,” Finlandia head coach Matt Farrell said. “Belle’s knack for finding the outfield gaps and clutch hitting will provide a spark to our lineup. Like Elizabeth (Mukka), her family ties to the Upper Peninsula make Belle a great fit at Finlandia.”
