HOUGHTON — Weather forced cancellations in high school basketball on Thursday.

The Copper Country experienced blowing winds and rain/snow mix that turned into snow in the morning and early afternoon Thursday. Wind gusts up to 70 mph forecast waves as high as 22 feet on Lake Superior.

Here are the cancellations:

• Baraga at Dollar Bay-Tamarack City, rescheduled to Tuesday, Jan. 4.

• Calumet at Lake Linden-Hubbell, no makeup date.
