HANCOCK -- Finlandia University women's hockey coach Lindsay Macy is leaving Finlandia after two years.
The move was confirmed Tuesday by two independent sources close to the Lions' women's hockey program.
Macy, who was named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association's Coach of the Year, was named the next head coach at the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota.
Saint Benedict announced the hiring of Macy on Monday.
"I am excited to start working with the student-athletes and staff at Saint Ben's to continue the growth of a great program," Macy said in Saint Benedict's statement. "I look forward to getting back to my roots to help continue to grow the game that has given me so much in the great state of hockey."
Macy starts as the Bennies' head coach on May 16, the college also said in its statement.
Macy leaves the Finlandia program with a 3-21-1 record. She was hired by the Lions prior to the 2020-21 season, but it was not played because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Saint Benedict was 10-12-1 overall and 6-7-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference last season under outgoing head coach Nick Thibault, who coached four seasons for the Bennies. St. Benedict finished sixth in conference standings last season.
