HANCOCK -- Luke Kangas has committed to play for the Finlandia University men's hockey team. He is planning on majoring in PTA.
Kangas, a forward, had a strong season for the Richmond Generals (USPHL Premier). He scored 13 goals with 15 assists for 28 points and helped the Generals qualify for the national tournament.
"We are excited to have Luke join our program," said head coach Joe Burcar. "He brings grit and a high compete level that will fit our team. Luke plays a 200-foot game and has a strong hockey mind.
"He was a big part of his junior team qualifying for the national tournament last season."
Kangas is not the first in his family to attend Finlandia.
"Luke's grandfather attended school here when it was Suomi College," said Burcar.
