NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — It was 90 minutes of SISU as the Finlandia University women’s soccer team (6-9-2) lost 3-0 to Mary Washington (11-4-4), Thursday night at CNU Soccer Field in a Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Championship Quarterfinal game.

Sophomore Mikayla Brown had several amazing saves to keep Mary Washington off the board for the first 30 minutes.  The Eagles managed to squeeze a goal in at the 31:16 mark.

For the next 50 minutes, Finlandia continued to frustrate MWU.  Brown had several more strong saves.  The Lion defense came up with four blocks to help out.  Mary Washington managed to get two scores in the last nine minutes to seal the game.

Brown finished with a career-high 15 saves.

Finlandia has concluded the 2022 season.
