HANCOCK — Tammy Perrotta (Battle Creek, Mich.) has committed to play for the Finlandia University softball team. She is planning on majoring in Criminal Justice.

Perrotta is entering her senior year at Battle Creek Harper Creek High School. 

“The Finlandia University Softball team is thrilled to announce the third member of our 2023 recruiting class,” said coach Matt Farrell. “Tammy is a strong, hard-working, and dedicated student-athlete who is constantly striving and pushing to achieve excellence on the field and in the classroom.”

As a junior, she drove in 18 runs, batted .302 and had a fielding percentage of .940% and an on-base percentage of .456.

Perrotta has been named to the Battle Creek Enquirer All-City team the last two years.  She has earned three varsity letters for the Beavers.

“She will do anything for the team and her positive attitude fits perfectly into the culture of our program,” Farrell said. “Tammy will also gain some valuable international experience on tour this summer in the Dominican Republic with a select travel team. She projects as a reliable two-way player that will strengthen our pitching staff and infield depth for the next four years.”
