HANCOCK — Lena Pleaugh (Gwinn, Mich.) has committed to play for the Finlandia University women’s basketball team. She is planning on majoring in nursing.

Pleaugh had a strong junior season at Gwinn High School.  She averaged 16.8 points, six rebounds and four assists per game for the Modeltowners.  Pleaugh was All-WestPAC and All-Mid-Peninsula first teams and All U.P. Division 1-3 second team.

Pleaugh received the Gil Heard Courageous Athlete Award after overcoming serious spine-related nerve damage.
