Lions women’s hockey struggles at Adrian in sweep

Finlandia drops one Saturday

ADRIAN, Mich. — The Finlandia University women’s hockey team (0-10 NCHA, 0-19) lost 11-0 to No. 5 Adrian (8-0 NCHA, 16-1), Saturday afternoon at the Arrington Ice Arena.

Sophomore Laney Pasemko kept Finlandia in the game for the first 25 minutes, making numerous amazing saves. Adrian, which led 2-0 five minutes into the second, scored four goals in a 10-minute span to take control.

FinnU blocked 35 shots led by sophomore Sarah Parker with seven and senior Peyton Airaudi with six. Airaudi also had eight faceoff wins.

Pasemko finished with 87 saves, breaking the school record of 75 set by Breanna Merriam (Wisconsin-Superior – Jan. 5, 2015).

Lions fall to Bulldogs Friday

ADRIAN, Mich. — The Lions lost 19-0 to the Bulldogs Friday night at the Arrington Ice Arena.

Adrian scored four goals in the first six minutes of the game to take control.

FinnU blocked 20 shots with five players at three each. As a team, the Lions had 87 saves, breaking the school record of 75 vs. UW-Superior (Jan. 5, 2015).

Up next

Finlandia stays on the road, playing Lawrence, Friday, Jan. 27. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
