Finlandia closes season on the road

MEQUON, Wis. — The Finlandia University women’s hockey team (0-16 NCHA, 0-25) lost 11-0 to Concordia (Wis.) (9-7 NCHA, 14-10-1), Saturday afternoon at the Ozaukee Ice Center.

Senior Cassidy Becia had a shot on target blocked at the 1:41 mark of the first period.  Concordia drew first blood with 17:52 left.

Finlandia had several strong scoring chances that just missed. The Falcons added a goal in the first period; then scored two in the first two minutes of the second period to seal the game.

As a team, the Lions blocked 29 with five each from sophomore Samantha Eldridge and freshman Gracie Hall. Freshman Lexi Holman had 46 saves.

MEQUON, Wis. — It was 60 minutes of effort as the Lions lost 5-0 to Falcons, Friday night at the Ozaukee Ice Center.

Concordia came out quick scoring two goals in the first seven minutes. Finlandia came back with several strong scoring chances that just missed. The Falcons scored two in the second period to seal the game.

As a team, the Lions blocked 24 with three each from sophomore Breanne Bisek, Eldridge, Hall and freshman Kennedi Johnson. Sophomore Laney Pasemko finished with 36 saves.
