Lions Call Of Duty team falls to Florida International

HANCOCK — Finlandia University Esports Call Of Duty opened the ECAC season against Florida International, Saturday. These games are played in a best of 5 series. Starters for the Call of Duty team are Brendan Christian, Bryson Beck, Michael Kolb, and Joshua Merced.

Florida International – L (3-0)

Game 1 (Fortress Hardpoint, Loss 250-33)

The game started out tightly contested with Finlandia getting the majority of the first hardpoint time. Florida International responded by taking about 40 seconds off P2 and winning the rotation over to P3 to extend their lead. From there, the Panthers ran away with the remainder of the hardpoint leaving the Lions in the dust.

Game 2 (Mercado Search and Destroy, Loss 6-1)

The first round of search and destroy opened up with FinnU gaining an early advantage, but FIU defended the site well enough to stop Finlandia. The Lions bounced back in the second round playing perfectly as a team to tie up the game, 1-1. Florida International took the following two rounds in swift succession. FinnU fought back in the fifth round with a close 1v1, but it fell towards the Panthers.

Game 3 (Asilo Control, Loss 3-0)

Finlandia opened up on the offensive side of Asilo going between both the A and B points, taking one tick on each point before falling to the defenses of Florida International in the first round. The Panthers converted their offensive round into another round win. The Lions opened up with another tick on the A site to open their offense, but could not get past FIU in the end.
