Lakes fall on the road
HURLEY, Wis. — An eight-point halftime lead by the hosts was too much for the Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes to overcome Thursday night in a season-opening loss to the Hurley Northstars, 36-20.
The Lakes trailed 20-12 at halftime.
Brady Axford went 3-of-11 for 21 yards through the air with one touchdown and one interception. He was good on the ground, rushing 24 times for 122 yards and a touchdown.
Josh Daavettila paced the Lakes’ offense with 163 yards on the ground on 27 carries. He also scored a touchdown.
Isaac Johnson had one catch for 16 yards and a touchdown.
