LAKE LINDEN — With a 5-2 win on Tuesday at the Boneyard in Lake Linden, Finnish Coat finished in second place in the Copper Country Women’s Fastpitch softball standings.

Krista Carello was the winning pitcher while striking out 10. Rosalie Kangas took the loss with Larissa Peterson coming in as relief. Kangas struck out four.

For Finnish Coat, Ryleigh Johnson had a double and Brynn Arko and Ashlee Johnson each had two singles.

For Northern Wishes, Meg Ruohonen had a double and Theresa Anderson, Sylvia Aho and Larissa Peterson each had a single.

Standings set

With the season over, Gold Standard holds the top seed heading into the playoffs. Finnish Coat earned the second seed, with Superior Service in third, Northern Wishes in fourth, Old Bats of Michigan Made in fifth, and JB’s Sales and Service in sixth.

Playoff picture

The single elimination postseason playoff was scheduled to begin Wednesday with a pair of quarterfinal games. In the game in Chassell, Old Bats of Michigan Made and Northern Wishes were set to play at 7 p.m. In the game at the Boneyard, JB’s Sales and Service was set to face Superior Service.

In the event that Wednesday’s games were rained out, both quarterfinals and semifinals would be played on Monday.
