Michigan Tech women’s basketball 2025-26 schedule released

HOUGHTON — With a spotlight of 13 games at the SDC Gymnasium, the 2025-26 Michigan Tech women’s basketball schedule has been released, with the season beginning on Oct. 26, with the postseason starting in March.

The Huskies finished the 2024-25 season with an overall record of 12-17 and 9-11 in the GLIAC under Sam Clayton entering her eighth year as head coach of her alma mater.

Nonconference play

The season opener will see the Huskies travel to East Lansing, Michigan, to take on Big Ten affiliate Michigan State in an exhibition contest on Oct. 26. The Black and Gold will see a pair of familiar faces as former Michigan Tech player and coach, Kim Cameron, is an assistant coach on staff with the Spartans, as is Maria Kasza, who transferred to Michigan Tech from Northern Michigan. Once she finished her playing career, she was an assistant under Cameron for five years.

The Huskies will travel to the Wisconsin Dells for the third-straight season, partaking in the JustAGame Crossover facing GLVC foes Lewis (Nov. 14) and Upper Iowa (Nov. 15). 

Michigan Tech will also face four NSIC opponents in November playing host to Minnesota Duluth (Nov. 20) and St. Cloud State (Nov. 21) before traveling to the North Star State to face Concordia-St. Paul (Nov. 28) and Winona State (Nov. 29). 

The Black and Gold conclude the out-of-conference slate before the New Year, traveling to GLVC affiliate Missouri-St. Louis (Dec. 13) and followed by hosting GMAC foe Northwood (Dec. 19).

GLIAC Play

The conference slate showcases 20 games with the Black and Gold traveling to Roosevelt (Dec. 4) and Wisconsin-Parkside (Dec. 6) to open league play. In the New Year, Michigan Tech begins a four-game homestand, opening with defending national champions, Grand Valley State (Jan. 1), Davenport (Jan. 3), Northern Michigan (Jan. 8) and Ferris State (Jan. 10). 

The Huskies then alternate weekends of away and home for four-straight weeks, with road matchups at Saginaw Valley State (Jan. 15) and Elite Eight competitors from last season, Lake Superior State (Jan. 17) before venturing to Davenport (Jan. 29) and Grand Valley State (Jan. 31) two weeks later.

Michigan Tech hosts Wayne State (Jan. 22), Purdue Northwest (Jan. 24), Lake Superior State (Feb. 5) and Saginaw Valley State (Feb. 7) before back-to-back weeks on the road late in the season, heading to Purdue Northwest (Feb. 12), Wayne State (Feb. 14), Northern Michigan (Feb. 19) and Ferris State (Feb. 23). MTU caps the regular season at the SDC Gym, welcoming Wisconsin-Parkside (Feb. 26) and Roosevelt (Feb. 28).
