Valley Raceway to host first-ever UP 2-Stroke Championship and AMA U.P. State Championship Motocross Races on Aug. 23-24
CRYSTAL FALLS — Motocross enthusiasts have a reason to descend upon Crystal Falls near the end of August as history will be made when Valley Raceway hosts two premier racing events: the first-ever U.P. 2-Stroke Championship and the inaugural AMA U.P. State Championship. Set to take place on Aug. 23-24, the back-to-back races should attract top talent from across the region, offering AMA-sanctioned points for both District 16 and the Superior MX Series.
This is the first time an AMA U.P. State title will be awarded, making the event a must-attend for racers and fans. Champions in each class will be awarded a coveted No. 1 plate, marking their place in U.P. motocross history.
“We’re excited to bring a weekend of high-energy, family-friendly motocross to Crystal Falls,” said Eric Uren, owner of Valley Raceway. “These are events built for riders of all ages and skill levels — from 4 to 60 years old, Women, and beginners to national-level pros.”
U.P. 2-Stroke Championship – Friday, Aug. 23
Celebrate the legendary sound and style of two-stroke motocross with a full slate of classes and intense racing: 2-stroke (open), 125cc (open), 2-stroke C (beginner), 2-stroke B (intermediate), 2-stroke +30, and 2-Stroke Pro in addition to all of the regular series classes. Riders will compete for custom awards made by Crystal Steel House.
AMA U.P. State Championship – Saturday, Aug. 24
This marquee event will crown U.P. champions in all AMA District 16 and Superior MX Series classes and award Number One Plates to the winners.
Credentials
Racers need to obtain AMA and District 16 credentials online and will register at the event. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to catch every moto from the first gate drop to the final podium celebration. Practice starts at 7:45 a.m., with racing by 9 a.m.
