L’ANSE — The Houghton Gremlins boys basketball team found a way to emerge from a road game with a win Thursday as they defeated the L’Anse Purple Hornets, 67-44.

“Our guys showed great effort and hustle on defense tonight, with good ball movement on the offensive end,” said Gremlins coach Jared Lawson.

Mason Mayo paced the Gremlins with 21 points. Terrance Nolan scored 17.

For the Purple Hornets, Sam Lee racked up 16 points.
