Chassell boys nearly double up Watersmeet in win

WATERSMEET — The Chassell Panthers boys basketball team got off to a fast start and never looked back in a 70-42 win Tuesday on the road over the Watersmeet Nimrods.

Brayden Larson was outstanding, scoring 21 points to lead all scorers. Dayne Tarvis posted 20, including a pair of 3-pointers in the game.

Chassell outscored the Nimrods 17-12 in the first quarter, and that was fueled by Luke Tarvis’ lone 3-pointer and one from Dayne Tarvis as well.

In the second quarter, Larson caught fire. He made five baskets. Dayne Tarvis added three of his own and the Panthers led 39-21 at halftime.

Both of the Tarvis boys were involved again in the third quarter. Dayne made three baskets, Luke added two and a free throw.

Larson hit his lone 3-pointer in the quarter and added another basket as well, as Chassell put up 17 points again and led 56-31 with eight minutes remaining.

In the fourth, Dayne Tarvis hit his second 3-pointer, Luke Tarvis made another basket to get to 14 points, and Larson made a pair of buckets.
