Good Samaritan Raymond Brice

To the editor:

Slightly rattled after the blowout from hitting a football size rock on the west branch of Firesteel bridge and watching the vehicles flash by until one stops and asks, “do you need a hand?”

After my “yes,” a young fella runs back with his tool and basically changes our tire with my minimal help. During our struggle, we find out he is Raymond Brice, who is leaving the area the next day.

Not really knowing much about this modest and rather private fella, I look on the internet when we finally get service and find this Ray is an MTU grad and hockey champion. He’s also a good Samaritan champion to us. I am happy and proud to know there are still young, considerate, helpful, and high caliber individuals out there. I’m happy to have met one of them, Raymond Brice, a Houghton native.

Since this young man wouldn’t accept any type of payment, I can only thank him publicly with this letter to the editor and pay it forward for someone else, as he suggested. Thanks, Ray, and God bless. Merry Christmas.
