MARQUETTE — Houghton County Sheriff Brian McLean was airlifted to UP Health System – Marquette late Saturday night following an accident that occurred in his home, according to a release from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office has indicated that his injuries were significant and that he required life-saving measures, which were administered by neighbors near his residence before emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene.

Sheriff McLean remains in critical condition at this time.
