November 28
• Hancock Christmas Walk 6 – 8 p.m. Downtown Hancock’s annual Christmas Walk will take place along Quincy Street. This year’s theme is “Whoville in Hancock.” The Christmas Parade steps off at 6 p.m. at Quincy and Reservation Streets, featuring floats, music, and holiday cheer. Contact City Hall at city@cityofhancock.com or call 906-482-2720 if you’d like to be in the parade. The parade will conclude at Memorial Park across from City Hall, where Santa Claus will make a special appearance to light the City’s Christmas Tree at approximately 6:10 p.m. Families are encouraged to bundle up and join in the fun! Activities include dog sled rides, hayrides, Christmas cookie decorating, crafts, face painting, and more. Local businesses will stay open late, offering specials, treats, and warm holiday hospitality.

• Home for the Holidays gift Market, 10 a.m. – 3 p..m. The annual Home for the Holidays Gift Market returns to the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts on the MTU campus, with a curated collection of high-quality, locally sourced gifts and festive home décor. Find everything from unique, handcrafted goods to delicious seasonal treats.
December 3
• Stuff a Blue Goose, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Marketplace Foods, Houghton. Troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post host “STUFF A BLUE GOOSE” Harvest Gathering charity event. The purpose is to raise food donations for local food pantries. A “BLUE GOOSE” patrol car will be at Marketplace Foods to haul donated items to local food pantries at the conclusion of the event. All participating grocery stores will have pre-made bags available for purchase, which will be stuffed in the “BLUE GOOSE”. Each bag will be pre-filled with non-perishable food items. You may also donate your own non-perishable food items.
• Edmund Fitgerald Program, 6 p.m. Lake Linden-Hubbell High School Auditorium. Featuring Darren P. Muljo, Grandson of Ransom E’ Cundy Will share his grandfather’s legacy as a WWII vet and one of the few survivors of the Battle of Iwo Jima who perished on the Fitzgerald. State Rep. Karl Bohnak, a meteorologist, will break down the storm that sank the large freighter. Admission is by a donation to the local food shelf or the Toys for Tots program.

KNHP Open House, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Looking for something festive? The Keweenaw National Historical Park’s Calumet Visitor Center (98 5th St, Calumet) has something for you! Step into historical holiday cheer at the Holiday Open House.
You’ll have the opportunity to engage in make-and-take holiday crafts inspired by 150 years of seasonal traditions. Three floors of interactive exhibits for all ages are open for exploration as well. Be sure to catch the Village of Calumet Sesquicentennial Exhibition on the thrid floor before it’s gone! All of this, and more, await you at this family-friendly event sure to be full of history and holiday magic.
