• Copper Country Mental Health Services Board Meeting, 4 p.m. in the board room of Copper Country Mental Health’s Rice Memorial Center 901 W. Memorial Drive Houghton.
• DNR Western U.P. Citizens Advisory Council, 6 p.m. (virtual meeting). The Council is scheduled to hear updates on the western U.P. snowmobile trail system, the fish guiding process for Michigan lakes, a winter boating access site snowplowing partnership, and consider support for a council wildlife committee recommendation when the panel meets virtually Jan. 28. • Sharon Avenue Property Use Committee Meeting, 10 a.m. Conference Room on the 5th floor of the Houghton County Courthouse. The public is encouraged to get involved in this process. • Blood Drive, Laurium, 3 – 6 p.m. Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital. The U.P. Regional Blood Center will hold a blood drive at Aspirus Keweenaw in Laurium. Walk-ins are welcome.
January 30
• Neighbor’s Table Community Meal, 5:30 – 7 p.m. Faith Lutheran Church, Calumet. The monthly Neighbor’s Table community meal will be served at Faith Lutheran Church in Calumet with take outs available between 6:30 and 7 p.m. All are welcome, at no charge.
February 7
• Barnelopet 2026, Free non-competitive kids’ ski race for ages 3-17. Registration 9:30 a.m. with the race starting at 10:30 a.m.AM. Location is Four Seasons Chalet on Maasto Hiito Trail, Hancock. Race distances: 1km, 2km, 4km, 6km. Medals, cookies, and hot chocolate distributed to participants
