Land purchase discussions set for this week

CALUMET — The public is invited to join in the discussion about the proposed purchase of 32,600 acres of land in Keweenaw County during public meetings Tuesday and Wednesday. Public meetings have been set to learn more about the project from consultant John Molinaro and hear from The Nature Conservancy and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Those attending can ask questions and voice opinions toward developing a shared vision and plan for the future of the land. Grief support group to meet Wednesday

Archery, shooting ranges open on Thursday

HOUGHTON — Trap shooting and rifle, pistol & archery ranges will be open to the public, with all ages welcome from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday. This will be an ongoing event every Thursday. Youth drama camp registration open

HANCOCK — Kaleidoscope and Finlandia University will sponsor a drama camp June 13 to 17 for kindergarten through 11th grade students in Hancock. During this week, Compass Creative Dramatics will work with students from the Keweenaw area to learn, play and perform "Cinderella (Saves the World!)."
