HOUGHTON — A Port Huron man was taken to the hospital for treatment after a two-vehicle personal injury crash in Houghton Friday morning.

About 6:05 a.m., the 19-year-old was driving north on First Street when he lost control of his vehicle sliding into the intersection at U.S. 41, the Houghton Police Department said. There he collided with a Michigan Department of Transportation maintenance vehicle.

Mercy EMS transported the 19-year-old driver to UP Health System — Portage for treatment.

The accident remains under investigation. Local police and fire assisted on scene.
