Timber companies to merge

Press release PELKIE — Green Timber Consulting Foresters Inc. and Grossman Forestry Company Inc. are pleased to announce the merger of the two companies. Hancock public library annual used book sale

Presss release The Friends of the Portage Lake District Library will be hosting a two-day Used Book Sale at the Hancock School Public Library. The sale will be held Friday, Aug. 9, from 2 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hancock High School at 501 Campus Drive in Hancock. OCCD release ROCKLAND TWP. — The Ontonagon County Conservation District met Monday, July 8 for their regular monthly meeting. Regular business included completing the State mandated MDARD Operations Review Element, working on the quarterly budget review and planning for the September budget meeting. Plans for the annual meeting and elections on Thursday, Nov. 7 (5 p.m. Rockland Twp Hall) were also addressed. Dear Members & Sponsors, On behalf of Keweenaw Snowmobile Club, thank you for being a supporter of our snowmobile trail system. The 2023-2024 snowmobile season has ended, although I’m not sure we can ever say it ever started. We worked hard to send groomers out on the trail at every available opportunity without damaging equipment. We did not groom at all in December or March and only groomed 3,247 miles this year compared to our 18-year average of 31,617 miles. This is the lowest mileage we’ve ever groomed. Next Cycle Michigan awarded its 2023 People’s Choice award to Zack Osborn for his bioenergy project mini organics recycler. His creation is made of repurposed plastic and recycles organic waste and water.
