False report dropped, new charges coming against South Range VFW bartender

HOUGHTON – A bartender accused of falsely reporting an armed robbery at the South Range Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in December will be rearraigned with additional charges Friday morning.

Prosecutor Michael Makinen motioned to dismiss the current charge against Sasha Anderson, 36, of South Range. The false report charge is a four-year felony.

In December, Anderson reported a man confronted her and took a large amount of money as she was closing for the night.

The suspect, Clinton John Jarriel, 36, formerly of South Range, is being sought on an arrest warrant on a charge of larceny of $1,000 or more but less than $20,000.

Anderson’s arraignment is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Friday.
