The CDC is requesting that individuals defer visiting residents in the nursing home setting until further notice. They have also recommended that facilities take active measures to screen visitors in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In order to honor the recommendations made by the CDC and CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services), Canal View – Houghton County will be limiting visitation hours from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Visitors will also be screened for COVID-19 risk factors upon entering the facility. Special arrangements can be made to visit outside of these hours by calling 482-5050.
