CALUMET — Hoping that the third time is the charm, The Calumet Theatre is rescheduling the July 3 performance of Copper Country favorite Erik Koskinen & his top-shelf band. The performance date change is necessitated by a previously unforeseen band schedule conflict. The new show date for Koskinen is set for September 26. He was originally scheduled to perform at the Theatre’s 120th Anniversary Celebration on March 20. That performance was postponed due to COVID-19 mandated business closures. All tickets purchased for the original show date or the July 3 date will be honored for the September 26 performance.

Musically sprouted from a blend of American folk, country, rock-n-roll, and blues, Erik Koskinen and his top-shelf band realize a sound that is distinctive and fresh while familiar and classic.

Koskinen grew up in the Copper Country, where folks figured out how to survive by working hard and with their hands. “I always want to write about real stuff, real emotions, and I think it comes from living in a place like Northern Michigan,” says Koskinen. That was the humble beginnings of a musical career, one steeped in roots music, blue-collar sensibilities, and honest heart-felt story-telling. That is Erik Koskinen.
