Copper Country Firefighters History Museum open with new self-guided tour

CALUMET — The Copper Country Firefighters History Museum is now open for the summer season, Monday through Saturday 1 to 4:30 pm. New this year is a self-guided tour with many new exhibits.

The Italian Hall Exhibit on the second floor within view of the actual site is always popular and informative. This year the Michigan History Plaque that was first at the Italian Hall site however replaced by a second plaque at the site by the State Office of Michigan history will be on display at the Firefighters Museum. The controversy of the Italian Hall Tragedy continues 107 years after the 1913 Tragedy where 73 persons died in a stairway trying to escape from a fire that was not there.
