US tells states to deal with unemployment fraud — or face penalties

The U.S. Department of Labor told states Wednesday to take immediate action to combat fraud, waste and abuse in their unemployment insurance programs — and that they could have administrative funds withheld if they don't comply. Because of the Juneteenth Postal Service holiday, there will be no Daily Mining Gazette, delivered via mail on Friday. In addition, the paper will not be available at regular retail outlets. The Daily Mining Gazette offices will be open however. There will be a paper on Saturday June 20, which will go out with the regular mail and be available for retail sale.
