On Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 12 p.m. a mobile food pantry will be hosted at the Ontonagon Village Fire Hall. The event will provide a variety of foods, including fresh produce and dairy items, to approximately 300 families on a first-come, first-served basis. The mobile food pantry is funded by Copper Shores Community Health Foundation in partnership with Ontonagon Area Schools. SOUTH RANGE — The Houghton County Sheriff Department is investigating an abandoned vehicle at The Bluff behind South Range in Adams Township. The small 1997 Nissan truck was left on the site and is burned to an unrecognizable state, the department said in a release. The department said the truck appeared to have been directed down the bluff from the top, coming to rest about two-thirds of the way down.
