Stephen Stolarick

EAGLE HARBOR — Stephen “Steve” Karl Stolarick, age 51, a resident of Highland Park, IL and Eagle Harbor, MI, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024. He was born July 22, 1972, in Rock Island, IL and was a former resident of Milwaukee, WI, East Lansing, MI, Chicago, IL and London, U.K.

Beloved husband of Lara Leaf and loving father to Stuart and Fiona; son of the late Stephen L. Stolarick and Carolyn R. Stolarick (nee Koy); Steve will be dearly missed by his family and a wide circle of friends and colleagues.

Steve grew up in Moline, IL and Greendale, WI. He earned a BS in Business from Marquette University and an MBA from The Broad School of Business at Michigan State University. Throughout his career in finance, he worked in the U.S. and U.K. and was employed by Stark Investments, DTE Energy, GMAC/Ally Bank, and BMO Harris Bank.

Steve was passionate about his family and spending time in nature. He found joy in hiking, kayaking, skiing, mountain climbing and exploring the outdoors. He was also an enthusiastic sports fan, avid traveler, animal lover and history buff. He dedicated time as a volunteer firefighter for his beloved Eagle Harbor community and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

A memorial gathering will be held Sat., April 13 at 10 a.m. at Elawa Farm, 1401 Middlefork Drive, Lake Forest, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the college funds for Stuart and Fiona in furtherance of Steve’s aspirations for their futures. Donation details will be provided at the memorial gathering.
