Beverly Jean Simonson, age 99, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, in Calumet. Jean was born in Laurium on Sept. 12, 1926, to Russell and Melvina Brown. She married Robert Simonson on June 22, 1946, and they raised two sons together. Jean and Robert spent many seasons at their summer cabin at Agate Harbor and enjoyed sharing their “happy place” with friends and family, and sweet memories were made and remembered. GRAND CHUTE, Wis. — David William Wilson, 69, of Grand Chute, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday morning, Nov. 7, 2025 at Saint Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Houghton with Rev. Father Corey Litzner to officiate. SOUTH RANGE — Ralph E. Tapani, 92, a resident of South Range, passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at Our Lady of Mercy Convalescent Home in Hubbell, where he had been a resident patient for six weeks. He was born on April 29, 1933, in Atlantic Mine, son of the late Elmer and Sigrid (Nelson) Tapani. Ralph married his best friend Betty (Sjostrand) Tapani on July 21, 1956. Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was employed by Ala Gas and then Ferrellgas. After retirement he worked for the Village of South Range.
