New Jail, rinse, repeat Editor: We have been dealing with the seemingly non stop new jail conversation for some years now. Might I suggest part of the problem is the transperancy into our local legal issues or lack of over the years. We used to see regular police & courts that gave an insight into how many and why we might have an over crowding issue. But that got removed. Frankly unless it was somethng fairly major, nearly aLL local crime goes unreported by the one and only local news. Clarity from Canada Editor: Very often, people in this country do not see clearly that which is so obvious to non-Americans. The following offers two quotes from a famous modern author from Canada. The author eloquently and succinctly states the obvious: "The unthinkable is made real not through rational thought, but feelings. Humiliation Editor: After listening to plaintive responses as to why the GOP lost elections held recently in New York, Maryland and Virginia, I’m at a loss as to why these frustrated elephants can’t fathom the real reason for their humiliating defeats. The elections I speak of are the mayorship of New York city and the governorships of Maryland and Virginia.
