Getting honored: Three Huskies named All-WCHA, 17 to Academic Team

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Colin Swoyer, Trenton Bliss, and Arvid Caderoth have been named All-WCHA the league announced on Wednesday (Mar. 10). The Huskies also had 17 student-athletes named to the WCHA All-Academic Team.

Swoyer was honored on the All-WCHA Second Team, Bliss is on the All-WCHA Third Team, and Caderoth is on the All-WCHA Rookie Team.

Swoyer is a junior defenseman from Hinsdale, Illinois. The alternate captain ranks second in the WCHA amongst defensemen with 16 points, scoring three goals and tallying 13 assists. He leads WCHA blueliners with 69 shots on goal and was named the WCHA Defenseman of the Month for February while also being named the WCHA Defenseman of the Week four times this season.

Swoyer scored the game-winning goal against Ferris State on February 13 and has assisted on the game-winner three other times this season. Tech is 3-0 when he scores and 11-2 when he registers a point.

Bliss is a junior forward from Appleton, Wisconsin. He leads the Huskies with 25 points after 12 goals and 13 assists. The alternate captain scored the game-winning goal at Ferris State on February 2 and has assisted on the game-winning goal four times. He has six multi-point games, including a goal and two assist performance in a 4-3 overtime win over Northern Michigan on December 18.

Bliss went on a seven-game point streak from February 2-16 where he tallied four goals and four assists. The Huskies are 7-4 when he scores and 10-1 when he notches an assist. Bliss is a candidate for the Hobey Baker Award for the second straight season and received votes for Preseason All-WCHA.

Caderoth, a native of Gothenburg, Sweden, leads WCHA rookies with 18 points this season and leads the Huskies with 16 assists to rank third amongst all college hockey rookies. The forward holds the rookie national lead in assists on the power play with 10. He was named the WCHA Rookie of the Month for January and February and was twice named WCHA Rookie of the Week.

Caderoth scored the game-winning goal at Alabama Huntsville on February 5 and has assisted on the game-winner five times this season. He scored his first collegiate goal at Northern Michigan on January 25. He has four multi-point games this season and the Huskies are 2-0 when he scores and 10-4 when he records a point.
