Jeffers girls cruise past R-M 62-17

REPUBLIC — At Republic, the Jeffers Jets employed a deep bench and used pressure on defense to run to 16-6 and 31-8 lead after each of the first two quarters to earn a 62-17 Copper Mountain Conference win.

“They shot well with a lot of fast breaks,” R-M coach April Radcliffe said. “They pressed us for three quarters.”

Juniors Alicia Ball and Kaitlin Ambuehl and sophomore Tailyn Raisanen paced the Hawks with four points each. Jeffers got 13 from Dana Kinnunen as 11 Jets players scored.

Jeffers also won the JV game 70-11.

Next, Jeffers hosts Ontonagon on Friday.
