MARQUETTE — Reed Heathman and Ashley Lehmann had strong performances for Houghton High School’s ski team on Thursday.

Heathman captured three first-place finishes in the giant slalom and both slaloms. Heathman’s giant slalom was 1:01.85, comfortably ahead of Marquette’s Logan Audette (1:03.50). Heathman had a 1:21.49 on the first slalom and a 1:18.84 on the second.

Lehmann captured a top finish in the first slalom with a 1:29.89. She also took third in the giant slalom (1:05.71) and second in the second slalom (1:26.69).

Houghton’s boys team took first in the first slalom with 27 points, led by Heathman’s 1:21.49. It was the only first-place team finish on the day other than Marquette, who captured the boys and girls giant slalom, girls first slalom, and girls and boys second slalom.

Houghton boys took second in the second slalom with 37 points. The Gremlins boys also finished second in the giant slalom with 28 points.
