HANCOCK — For the second straight year, Shottle Bop won the 68th annual International Frisbee Tournament at the Hancock Driving Park Sunday afternoon.
They needed three games to do it, topping UP Hardwood from Marquette, the team that earned the IFT title three years ago by defeating Monte Carlo, the other Copper Country team.
Shottle Bop’s Will Blau was named Most Valuable Player for his efforts in helping his team win. He was joined by teammates Alex Nettell, Gabe Coppo, Stephen Dudenas, Kyle Suvanto, Carter Nettell, and his father, Ron Blau, to take the title.
UP Hardwood’s roster featured Connor Steer, Hogan Nemetz, Brendan Kaski, Luke Lahtinen, Jake Souce, Beau Belkowski, and Trent Smith.
The IFT featured 16 teams with over 100 teams from across the Midwest, including a pair of teams from the Copper Country. Games were played over the course of Saturday and Sunday to determine two finalists, who then played a best-of-three match for the championship.

Shottle Bop and Monte Carlo will heading to Marquette on Aug. 1 and 2 to take part in the U.S. Nationals.
