Former Forest Park coach Santilli named to MHSFCA Hall of Fame

Former Forest Park football head coach Bill Santilli was named among the 2021 Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class.

Santilli, one of 14 inductees, coached the Trojans from 1996 to 2013, and was a four-time U.P. Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Coach of the Year. He led Forest Park to the playoffs in all but one season.

Santilli guided Forest Park to 13 conference titles, 11 district titles, nine regional titles and six state runners-up, along with a state championship in 2007.

Santilli finished with a 171-46 (.788) record. He was 40-16 (.714) in the playoffs.

He was inducted into the U.P. Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.

Other inductees include Rick Applin, Jeff Bisel, Tony Blankenship, George W. Grady, Andre Harlan, Dave Lawrence, David Marsh, Bob “Ondo” Ondrovick, Daniel Ristau, Chris Schrauben, Dave Schwartz, Robert E. Snell Jr. and Tom Walentowski.

The Hall of Fame induction and banquet will be held in the summer of 2022 along with the MHSFCA East-West All-Star Game at a venue to be announced at a later date. Each inducted coach will have a Hall of Fame plaque on display at the University of Michigan.
