West Iron County forfeited Friday’s game against Calumet because of a limited roster and injuries.

The Copper Kings pick up the win and have a bye week. Calumet athletic director Sean Jacques said the athletic department tried to find a replacement team.

The forfeit doesn’t affect the junior varsity game at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Iron River.

Calumet is scheduled to play at Gwinn at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17.

Calumet planned to hold a halftime CHS Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony at halftime Friday, but will instead be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the CLK Commons. The event is free and open to the public.

The inductees include Mark Bonenfant (1977), Robert Erkkila (1962), Myles “Tony” Gregorich (1983), Jordan Kronshage (2009), John Maki (2003) and Myra Peterson Nordstrom (1996).
