Copper Country Ski Tigers win state title
The Copper Country Ski Tigers won the Michigan High School cross-country ski championship.
The Ski Tigers took the championship won the overall state title last weekend for the ninth time in the last 10 years.
The races included a 5K skate and 5K stride. Times from both were combined for a pursuit score, and then there was a 1K skate sprint.
Ingrid Seagren and Cyrus Hamlin both took second place in the pursuit out of a field of 39 and 42, respectively.
Sage Resh Chimner took fourth place, followed by Eric Weiss (fifth), Autum Eles (sixth) and Birk Seagren (seventh).
Seagren took first in the sprint. Robin Kisiel (second), Hamlin (third) and Eric Weiss (fifth) also medaled in the event.
Maria Velat took first in the adaptive race.
