HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech Huskies men’s basketball sophomore guard Marcus Tomashek has been named to the D2CCA All-Region Second Team, as announced Friday.

Tomashek, a native of Green Bay, Wisconsin, had one of the best sophomore campaigns in Division II, being a top-10 scorer throughout the entire season, averaging over 20 points per game, finishing at 22.9 per outing.

He earned a GLIAC-best three Offensive Player of the Week accolades, the lone player to do so. Tomashek also earned First Team All-GLIAC, pacing the league in points (640) and points per game (22.9). He shot 45.6 percent from the field, 41.3 from 3-point range and 86.7 percent from the charity stripe this season.

He scored 20 points in 15 games and 30 points six times this season, with his career-high of 39 points coming on Dec. 7 vs. Saginaw Valley.
